Cré na Cille Máirtín Ó Cadhain CD
Máirtín Ó Cadhain was one of the greatest writers, probably
the greatest writer in Irish in the 20th Century. A native
of An Spidéal, Co. Galway, he was the author of many highly
acclaimed works, many of which have been translated to other
languages.
Cré na Cille, is probably his most famous novel, and depicts
the "life" in a local graveyard in Cois Fharraige as
different people pass away and join the community under the
soil.
This CD set is a dramatic radio version of Máirtín Ó
Cadhain's Cré na Cille which was produced for RTÉ Raidió na
Gaeltachta in the early 1970s by Conamara poet and
dramatist, Johnny Chóil Mhaidhc Ó Coistealbha, ar dheis Dé
go raibh a anam.
The package contains 8 cds. (NB. The language is very rich
and in very strong Conamara dialect)
