Mise Éire....Seán ó Riada CD
What can one say about Mise Éire?
For me and for many other Irish people, Seán Ó Riada's soundtrack for the 1959 film. makes the hair stand on the back of my neck.
Mise Éire is an orchestral piece, based on various traditional tunes, which follows the historical events in Ireland between 1896 and 1918.
The music, performed by the Radio Éireann Symphony Orchestra, is both dramatic and beautiful.
A very informative booklet accompanies this new CD version.
I would highly recommend this album to anyone even slightly interested in Ireland, her culture and history.
