Description

Mise Éire (I am Ireland) is an Irish language poem written by the scholar and republican leader Patrick Pearce. Pádraig Mac Piarais, as he was known in Irish, was later executed for his role as one of the leaders of the 1916 Rising. The poem depicts Ireland as the Old Woman of Beare, proud and glorious, but in a sorry state.

Translation

I am Ireland

I am older than the Old Woman of Beare

Great my glory

I who bore Cuchulainn the valiant

Great my shame

My own children who sold their mother.

I am Ireland

I am lonelier than the Old Woman of Beare

The hoody design does not contain the full poem.

A "Heavyweight UltraSoft Peach Finish fabric. 3 panel waffle-lined fabric hood with flat chunky hood cords, Kangaroo pouch pocket with concealed iPod and phone pocket. Ribbed hem and cuffs with thumb holes." And they're not our words . It's a superior quality garment that, in our opinion, outshines any Hollister or Abercrombie hoodies.
