I gCuimhne Aiséirí (in older Gaelic script and spelling on the design), means 'In memory of the Rising'. An old illustration, thought to be by Richard J King, shows  Éire in the form of a lady with a stricken volunteer and the  GPO, Dublin in the background.

Éirí Amach na Cásca means 'The Easter Rising'
